1. How long does it take for the whole moving process?

The moving process requires about 1 – 6 months depends on the import/export countries concerned and the health status of your pet.

2. What documents are required to move my pet?

Usually updated inoculations and health certificate to proof your pet is healthy and safe to travel are required. Some countries also required vaccinations.

3. What if I have flied but my pet is left behind due to reasons like health problems?

We could accomodate and take care of your pet until it is able to be exported. We will also keep close contact with you on the progress of the movement.

4. Is my pet travelling in the same flight as me?

Some countries such as USA and Canada allows pets to fly with you as excess luggage or cargo. While some countries such as Australia, UK, New Zealand and Singapore required the pets to travel as cargos.

5. Is the shipment safe?

It is not just safe but also comfortable. Your pet will be placed in an air-conditioned cargo in a proper cage with enough space to move. They can also access to water during the trip. Yet, we do not recommend providing food during the trip.

6. Is sedatives are necessary?

Generally, we do not recommend sedatives as this is not really necessary and there may be side effects to your pet such as amplifying sounds.

7. What if my pet is a huge animal?

The size of your pet is not a problem. Suitable arrangements could be made to accomodate your pet.

8. Are health certificates needed for my pet?

PetTour will take care of all import and export paperwork and inoculations, if necessary. A health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian and dated within 10 days of travel, along with a rabies vaccination, is required for all domestic moves. International travel requirements vary by country. Most countries require a USDA endorsed EU Certificate and some require documentation in the language of the importing country.

9. What type of kennel will I need?

The Animal Welfare Act and the IATA Live Animals Regulations define the details of proper flight kennels. PetTour can provide approved flight carriers of all sizes, and can furnish custom-built kennels when needed.

Flight kennels must be ventilated on all four sides and have room for your pet to stand without touching its head. Your pet must also be able to turn around. The carrier must have a leak proof bottom, with food and water bowls accessible from the outside.

In all other situations where the animal is not permitted as checked baggage (as in most international travel), we are happy to assist.

Upon receipt of your pet and travel information, we’ll provide you with a preliminary estimate at no charge. This information will be based on past experience and may be adjusted as we work on your pet’s specific logistical needs.

The minimum time required to plan and process your pet’s move is usually one week for domestic travel and 3-6 weeks for international trips.
